Default 8-1-17 family boat ride

Of course I brought a rod n reel, lol. went down to ship channel south of kelso but north of joes cove. stopped at two places. Very first cast this am landed a bull red. Then I quickly put 15 trout in the box with little mans help. took out a bag of shrimp before we left and really just wanted to keep enough for dinner. very easily could of boxed more with little mans help but other two didn't have license so stuck to my 15 only. Fried specks, shrimp, and tater tots be done in few hours. paw paw getting a quick nap. Dolphins were playing all over up north so didn't have to run far for that. Trout are all up and down the ship channel. two spots I stopped at earlier I'm not sure I ever fished before. Did not fish hard at all. we left the dock in the dark and were back to it by 1030. just before noon fish cleaned and boat cleaned. Was a nice morning.

Trout are / were all up and down ship channel. I was playing with my grandson more than anything and took less than hour to catch my limit of 15 trout. Water was geeen and pretty. Best I've seen all year. Well since April. Fishing with very small poppin cork 3feet above a #3 kahle hook with small weight 8" above hook.
