I have been going through rods like no tomorrow. I went years without breaking one now seems like everytime I fish one breaks or gets stolen. Started building my own, only built 2 so far. Still learning but cool to build one exactly how you want it.

I had 50lb power pro, but drag was set too tight... 100% user error

only rods I've broken except for one were shimanos and it wasn't user error. Dont use em anymore. Other one was a light skeleton that broke on a huge red. My fault because i shouldve out that rod down before jacking with those reds

Damn, that sucks that you guys have had so much trouble with Shimano's. Shimano has been the only rods that I have bought because none have ever snapped on me (unless I did something careless, but not under normal fishing conditions), and because of their exchange policy. I'll stick with what has been working for me, until it quits working. Then I will see what else is out there.

Grabbing the rod with one hand half way up pole and one hand on handle to flip a fish in will snap the rod or put stress crack in it . Seen alot of folks do that trick. They then blame poles fault, but it is user error.

100$ to replace which model??? must be crucial and cumara. The new ones suck anyways. better off buying G loomis if all this is true. The new maroon cumaras are like casting a 2X4!!
