Churn Pecan Island Offshore report

Got a call from my buddy Friday to go offshore with them in his new 26ft glacier bay cat. The boat was amazing, ran really well for the maiden voyage. we were greated with CALM seas and other then dodging a couple storms on the way out. Hit our first rig at about 30mi out, water was fanatstic and the Groves were on the chew. caught some STUDS, had 2 over 12lbs and missed a big cobia. the bite died there so we made our way farther and farther south, picking up a couple of fish on every rig till we hit the 130ft mark then we dropped for snapper and caught our limit very shortly. we had 2 reds between 18 and 20lbs. started to run back and came across a rip where we landed a couple of Mahi. We made the run from 60+ miles out all the way back to Trout water where we picked up a few yellow mouths before calling it a day. The tally for 5 guys was 10 red snapper, 31 Mangrove Snapper, 10 trout, 2 Mahi. I wonderful day on the water.

We cleaned the fish yesterday so I will post pics of the talbe shots when I get them.

I was also able to land the mahi below on the fly!!!!!! Best thing ever :-)

Nice job buddy! We ran to 233 trying catch trout but all we find was sharks and mackerel! Ran to the well head that looks like a missle and caught a few trout.

You can use a variety of jigging and trolling bait but for the lil guys like that they will eat anything fast and bright.
