Bass Pro Shop is off of I-12. It's Cabelas that is off of I-10.

My family loves Ninfa's: http://www.ninfaslouisiana.com/ It's probably 15 minutes away from BPS.

If you're not into terribly fancy, the Jambalaya Shoppe in the strip mall where BPS is terrific!

Now, it's order-at-the-counter, but really good and very reasonable.

x2 on sammy's that is my favorite resaurant in the world ... its cajun restaurant meets LSU hotspot .. the food is great, seafood is their specialty. There is one in BR off if highland which is a ways from BPS, and there is another in Prarieville, which is closer

I live about 1 mile from the one in Pville.....that place is always packed. The food is good but it is your standard eating out place to me. Has all the typical foods but nothing worth driving out of the way far.

my brother in law lives in Dutchtown so when we are there we are just a few miles from it, and we mainly go during crawfish season cause they are better than anyone in LC and the crawfish prices are dirt cheap compared to LC
