Not until I signed up with SC, have I heard inshore saltwater fish reported in pounds like bass. Around here, you will never hear a fisherman discuss the weight of a speck unless it pushing 10 lbs. or more.

Hell, I don't even have a scale in my boat.

*** I sure hope that guy in the pic asked the guide to only target reds and black drum. ***

Until I looked on 2cool I never knew people keep Sheephead and they had a limit on them

And I never seen anyone care so much about the length of a trout....
And I never understood a Post Topic like "Great Day loaded the Boat"
and its a Limit of Sheephead and black Drum...
And I never seen a Gafttop on a Boga Grip
And I never seen a Gaftop in an Ice chest

To me it looks like the guides on our lake are really missing the boat.
They need to start advertising in Texas for guided Black Drum and Sheephead trips; NO LIMITS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With Houston's population at 3 million,Dallas/Ft Worth 1-1.5 million, and San Antonio 2 million Texas guides have a huge population of guilible folks with $$$ and no smarts.

Sheepshead are very good, white meat with no worms, unlike specks..... If you eat redfish, small black drum taste the same or better. Now would I pay a guide for a black drum and sheepshead trip? Hell no...

I eat Sheephead too. Just a pain to clean.
I never caught Sheephead on live bait yet.
They will hit artificial quick fast and in a hurry.

My goal when fishing is to catch enuff to eat
after fishing and some to give to my dad and
his brother.
