Default First Buck with bow

Stuck my first buck with a bow Sunday afternoon 5 minutes after relieving myself at the bottom of the tree I was in. A buddy of mine killed a nice buck yesterday with his bow. 140", 18 3/4". Cant wait to get back into the woods.

When i used to dip copenhagen i would spit out of my treestand all the time. Over an hour or to i would have a pretty good puddle built up below my tree.

I swear to this day that there were deer that came in from far and wide to just get a good whiff of that stuff....

I sprayed scent lock on me before heading to stand only to pee right next to it. Forgot my bottle so had to go on ground. There were 2 deer eating acorns under same tree.

Congrats on the buck!!

You should take some better pictures to remember the hunt... especially your first buck with a bow!!... I always like to take one in the field where I find the deer.

Back of the truck pictures are ok if you don't have time in the field...
A decapitated bloody doe head next to my trophy?? COME ON MAN!!! haha

Congrats on the buck.

As for the pee, it doesn't spook deer. Lot of guys make mock scrapes and then pee in them. I've done this myself and had some nice bucks check the scrape not long after I left. Pee is pee to them, there is nothing in the urine that alerts to it being from a human.

Quote:
5. Peeing From Your Stand Will Scare Deer Off: The old wives’ tale has it that if you do not bring along a pee bottle to your stand and answer nature’s call on the ground below, you may as well head for the house and find a new spot to. Research has shown, however, that the smell of human urine does not noticeably affect deer, if it affects them at all. One research project with penned deer had the researchers spraying all sorts of things into scrapes to see which deer liked best. In one case they used four things—buck urine, doe-in-estrous urine, human urine and car air freshener. Results? With bucks, doe-in-estrous was the most popular, followed by human urine, then car air freshener, then buck urine.
Stay as scent free as possible, and don’t turn the ground near your stand into a public urinal, but if you have to go, just go, and keep hunting.

The mosquitos were horrible out in the filed and we were ready to get back and cook. Anyway, here are a few more picks,

All BS aside deer like dip. I would imagine any tobacco product but I've seen one eat dip first hand. I LMAO couldn't believe it.

Rage. Not a lot of blood for a two inch hole. Enough to tract the deer for 50 yards.

Hoping tomorrow, after I get off of duty I'll be able to catch some trying to sneak in a bite to eat.

Been raining here a fork ton. Light mists/heavy rains this whole week at night. Hopefully one will be brave enough to not hide behind a stump this time.
