Default Calcasieu Point

Has anyone ever launched a yak at Calcasieu Point? Trying to figure out where without scratching the yak up?

Nephew launches there all the time. Off to the side were all the folks fish off the bank.

10% of the fishermen catch 90% of the fish

I haven't launched there in a kayak, but I would probably just use the regular boat launch.

I launch there but only after all the inconsiderate power boaters are done. A yak launch is in the works for C Pernt but hats about all I can tell u. I hate leaving a thousand $$ worth of gear unattended while I go and park.

Raymond do you launch on the boat ramp or off the bank near the pier?

I use the boat launch when I go there. Use the 1st or 3rd lane and put yak close to wall while you park. Just be carefully. Very slippery by the water.
