Default What The Heck???

Went out today to do a some scouting around a bit to see if the area I've been hunting is still holding birds. As I am exiting the channel to open water area I look to the left and see a boat blind sitting off the channel with a full spread of decoys and I was like WTH? I slow down for a closer look and see a white hair gentleman pop up out of the boat so I pull up and politely ask " you do know duck season is closed don't you?" He replies no it closes today just getting in the last hunt! I told him no sir the season closed last Sunday, OMG the look on his face was Priceless, he says are you sure I said yea sir I'm positive! He says thank you and unloads his gun and begins rigging down his blind. Only explanation I have is he thought he was still in the old west zone. Man oh man is all I could say!!!!

I would believe anything in the reserve! 2003 we had to identify 4 sports birds and inform them the bag limit was 6 and not 5 opening day E unit. Musta shot a case for 20 cause it looked like a war zone.

I had a friend do the same thing on the wax last year. The get out there set up and start shooting at daylight. Found it a little funny that they did not hear any other shots. They start making phone calls and find out the season was closed. they hall *** so fast they left the decoys.

Several years ago when they closed the season on pintail we were coming out of Sabine we were in the no wake zone by the bathrooms and a boat was idling next to us. We were one bird short of our limit and they had one bird. They asked if we wanted their one bird (grayduck) so we say yes. They throw the bird in our boat and it was a pintail hen. We were lime never mind that's a pintail! And chinned it back in there boat lol the look on their face was priceless!
