I was referring to your post, I think #14. that is the dumbest logic I have ever heard! Yep, our states Capitol. Also, one if the most densly populated areas in the state! To open or not to open has nothing
to do with the govenor's mansion! It has to do with where the main populous(that means the most people) dwells!

Even if a hurricane came up the mississippi river and it somehow magically was able to keep cat 5 status this far from the coast. Baton rouge still would not flood from the mississippi river. I'll let you figure out why it won't happen. It's really easy.

When I get to my computer I will lay out a map and documents of when and where BR could flood... I'm not talking about New Orleans flooding I'm talking about sections of BR. I read a three page report from the corp two days ago on this!!! I believe they know more than EMaN

I hope your relative is safe but I feel his pain. There is nothing worse than leaving your home......for good.

I watched my father-n-law after he lost everything to rita. It's very sad to watch somebody you love or know go through this.

This is soooooo out of the realm of possibility......it doesn't even warrant discussion. In the past 40 years or so, only 2 hurricanes have made US landfall as a Category 5. Those are the only ones I remember but I think there was another one about 100 years ago. Contrary to popular belief.....Hurricane Rita was nowhere near a Cat 5. The possibilities of Baton Rouge flooding from a hurricane are probably less than with a tsunami.

W you are by far the dumbest person I have ever encountered in my life, be it real life or the internet. You have no idea what is actually going on. You dismiss a 100 year flood like nothing is going to happen. I could give a shat about what Corp report you have read over the past few days, your thinking is so off base it doesn't even warrant an arguement.

"Chances of Category 4 or 5 hurricanes hitting Gulf location are .03 percent annually." - Louisiana State University

If the chance is only .03% for the Gulf coast........then the possibility for as far inland as Baton Rouge is non-existent.
