Default iPhone GPS apps

Just curious if anyone has used and likes any of the GPS apps for the iPhone. just recently started fishing for redfish in the marsh around Myrtle Grove. I have to go by myself sometimes and its still pretty easy for me to get turned around. My iPhone seems to work fairly well there so was hoping i might buy an app for a few bucks versus a few hundred on a GPS unit.

I have navionics, but would not rely on it as a main GPS

The GPS on the iPhone actually works fairly well, although i do find myself boating across land sometimes according to the phone. Just curious if any of the apps were much better than that.

Some people use it exclusively.

I do. It's very reliable to me. 9.99 compared to 500-800$ for GPS and works great I'm always where it says I am. I rolled thru thicker fog than I was comfortable with by navionics only and I made it out just fine from juniors cut to joes cove straight relyin on navionics and ill trust it day in and day out

Truthfully, google maps works fine for going through the marsh around dulac. Google earth is good as well, but hard as heck to see in sunlight.

Well i went out today solo with just the iPhone GPS. I didnt download an app. The iPhone GPS actually works well, but you just cant see it. Between trying to watch where im going in the boat and on the phone, trying to see the little screen with my polarized glasses and /or the sun, and today of course the wind didnt help, i was able to navigate thru the chop pretty well and come home with a nice box of fish to boot!

The marsh is such a maze!
