Default "pecan" pronounciation

Ever since I met my wife we've had the infamous debate on the way you say "pecan". I say "puh con", she says "pee can"which drives me crazy. just wondering how yall pronounce it. I think its the yankee in her.

Pa-con. People sound retarded when they call it "pee-can". Same thing with pray-leen" and "praw-leen". Maybe it's the Coonass in me but maw maw always called those "praw-leens"!

There's nothing finer after a pop and a brot than a slice of Gam-gam's good old fashioned pee-can pie!

Y'all watch out when you cut the grasses with the lawn motor..... it's full of ant piles. When ya get done catch the hose pipe and spray the lawn motor off, then put it under the car porch, I'm goin pass by Nonc Thibs house for a minute.
