Default Grand Isle 5-28,29

I got invited last minute on a GI trip for the weekend. We went out around 140 miles on a 65 foot Viking. After about a 4 hour run we stopped at our first rig. About 30 minutes in to fishing, after catching a couple baracuda, we hooked our first marlin. We got him to the boat and estimated around 350 lb. We took off to the next rig, the BP Mad Dog. Once again after a couple baracuda, the fight was on. This second marlin was twice the size of the first one, we estimated around 600 or so. After a good fight he shook the hook before we landed him. We then headed to the Atlantis. Wow! Talk about an awesome rig, really a sight to see. Fished here till dark picking up a wahoo. After dark the tuna were blowin up everywhere. We set up some drifts and jigged for a couple hours picking up a good bit of small black fin and small yellow fin. Then we called it a night. Woke up the next mornin, couldnt tell you where we were, and got the lines out. We picked up a nice 90 lb yellow fin. After a bit more trolling with some missed hits, we headin back in. It was definately the most epic weekend I have had a while. And on a side note, Arties bar in GI is da shiz!

Yeah that was about a 2 million dollar rig. Very luxurious and well maintained. It was awesome.
