No it's actually the greedy politicians fault for not saving the coast and inside marsh with freshwater diversion years ago so the almighty snotball oyster could survive. A major start now would be to blow the B.C. locks and let the river flow naturally but then thats to easy and no one would get paid off.

Yup and La is the only state in which you can own tidal land/marsh.

I was in Grand Isle yesterday and spoke to a kayaker that got two bull reds in the pass. one 39 inches. Sorry don't know what he caught them on, but word was out that fresh mullet was gold. I didn't have any luck with trout or reds in the pass, but fished the bay north of grand isle by the USCG and picked up 4 trout in the p.m. Spoke to one gent and his little boy who spilled the beans and said they picked up 30 trout in the a.m. by USCG. Topwater was the ticket to trout bite.

Are you serious or joking? I really am curious, cause a lot of people I spoke to in Grand Isle the last two weeks says this year has been really tough for reds and trout. Spoke to a guy at Bayside Marina after coming in after being on kayak for six hours with nothing to show, and he said "don't feel bad", no one was catching today. Talked how good it was last year but awful this year.

If you're serious, do you have any info about the east side of the state and how that correlates to the BP spill? Or is it your gut feel? I hope its not true that the spill caused a fish die off.

He was being sarcastic. If there had been a problem with the fish due to the oil spill it would have already happened. It only takes trout 1-2 years to reach 12". The cold winter is what's messing stuff up

We loaded up on white trout this weekend off the beaches down there. A few specks but not many of size. All the whities were about 11 inches though so we got some decent fillets. Fished for four hours on Sunday and caught 83 between three people (only really two doing the catching though)
