Wherever you go have live shrimp and get in line. looks like a mardi gras parade of boats . drop shot the shrimp to keep them a foot or so off the bottom or use slip cork

Thanks for the tips! Maybe it being Mother's Day there won't be as many boats...wishful thinking I guess! Launch from Dockside?

Live shrimp is completely unnecessary.

Jk but seriously I read a post earlier where a guy got there at 520 and was first but 3 others were there within 10min and by 6 it was packed. By 7 you almost couldn't cast except straight at the bridge

Get their even earlier if you can. Seriously. I'd rather launch early than deal with the lines.

Ended up not going to the trestles, went to golden meadow and fished marsh instead. Pretty windy no specks and only 2 keeper reds. Lots of small reds. Think I'm gonna go fish trestles during the week when there's less people. How'd they do in Ponchatrain today?

If you get on a good school, take your anchor and jam it between the supports where their is a cement lip. Also the trains are pretty scary the first time.
