Default Beach Restoration

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) invites you to participate in a wetland restoration project that will create sand dunes along the Cameron Shoreline in Southwest Louisiana. This area provides essential protection for Louisiana’s inland communities and wetlands, and it was severely impacted by recent hurricanes. Volunteers will install 9,000 feet of sand fencing during this 3 day event. This project will assist in stabilizing and capturing sand in the hopes of building dunes. In addition, the project will also create wildlife habitat and increase species diversity.
Where: Cameron Shoreline – Long Beach Road (10 miles west of Holly Beach, LA).
When: Thursday June 14th, Friday June 15th, and Saturday June 16th.
9:00 a.m. to no later than 4:00 p.m.
Sign up to volunteer for only one day or multiple days!
All equipment (shovels, gloves, hammers, etc.) will be provided.
Lunch and drinks will be provided to all volunteers.
Minimum age for volunteers is 13, but all minors must be accompanied by an adult.
We request that all volunteers please register to let us know if you plan to attend (volunteers can register for one or all days). You can complete an online registration form at the www.crcl.org, click on the registration link above, or call the Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana at 1-(888)-LACOAST for more information.
Directions and additional information will be provided to registered volunteers via email a few days prior to the event.
We understand that plans can change. If, after registering, you find you are unable to attend the event, please email CBRPintern@crcl.org and let us know you have to cancel so we can make your spot available to other potential volunteers.
Need help with overnight accommodations? There are several hotels and camps to rent in the area. I you would like additional information on places to stay, please email HilaryC@crcl.org for assistance.
This project is being completed through a partnership with Lonnie G. Harper & Associates, Inc., State Farm Insurance, the Disney “Friends for Change” program, Restore America’s Estuaries, and NOAA.

Visit www.crcl.org for more information.

I don't have a problem with the fence project, but have you seen the last fence that was put out between Holly beach and west to the first camps? It's been torn to shreds, with the debri scatterd everyway on the dunes, beach and water. Hope y'all use a better product......
