Default where can I find menhaden shad road side?

Anyone know where I can catch some menhaden shad for bait without having to dock my boat? I need a good bit for a trip I'm taking and where I'm docking I wont be able to catch any around my fishing spot! I really would hate to make a special boat trip just for bait thanks I live by Lafayette

If you are near Port Sulphur then just look for the birds working. For the last month or so, the birds have been concentrating on the manhedan near the shallows.

Good Luck
