I haven't heard that the west side launch was open. And even if it was, it would be the last place I would be launching a 36' offshore boat. That launch is the worst launch on the lake.

Yeh I figured that. I am pretty sure it is still closed but may be wrong. Unless they moved ferry landing cause its right next to launch, they were worried about wake from ferry swampin boats.

It's open. Ate lunch several times in the past couple weeks.

Go to Holly beach and go east on 82. It is just north of the Cameron Ferry landing.

There is a crabber that has a key and permission to launch there, maybe it was him. I think he pulls his boat with an old suburban maybe? He usually locks it back after putting in though.

36 footer must b going deep, launch at the La-texas border, it's nice and can handle your boat. Unless ur fishing the graveyard, then it's out of ur way.

Thats good news, sounds like its back open then. I heard they were going to reopen it once the old ferry got fixed and the little ferry moved off. Did you notice if the ferry was using the ramps right by the launch or the old ramps a little more to the south?
