Default Dogs

It will be my first year with a dog also. my old man always had one, but i finally got a chocalate last year. I also trained her myself. She is by no means a field trial dog. She will not do the fancy stuff, but she will do the practical stuff, like retrieve a bird for me.
What most people don't understand is that even though you buy a dog and send it to a trainer, that doesn't mean you can bring it home put it in a pen and it will be good for the rest of its life. You still have to learn about your dog and the training doesn't stop.
I sure can't wait to hunt behind my dog though.

Pretty dog I trained mine last year and hunted him at 9 months old. He did not miss a bird duck, goose or dove. He just had a lot of puppy still in him when there was nothing to go get. I hunt with a farmer friend I he would not let me go with my dog. That really helped me out with him. Started last week getting the P*** and vinergor out of him at frist he just want to play but now he back knowing work time and play time. You are so rigth about when someone asks who trained them and you say I did your hat gets alittle tight.

yeah my dog isnt a ribbon winner either but i didnt want that, last time i checked, it really dont matter how you cook a ribbon you still cant eat it. lol

naah for my dog being 8.5 months old i know for a fact he is ready. im not bragging by no means because he still has alot of puppy in him but i think he will do pretty good. im interested to see what he will do with a live/half live duck, esp a diver or a downed goose that is mad, lol. should be a nice sight. he always had alot of drive with him and he still shows me he is working hard for me. he knows what i ask out of him and he knows i wont ask anything out of him that i know he isnt capable of but we work together and it all falls into place. im ready to get him a g/f so i can train her too. its a big acomplishment for me to watch my dog work and know that everything he does is what i taught him.

Default My hunting Buddy

Here's my hunting buddy. Good thing with him is if you're tired, you can ride him back to the truck. From the looks of his "Calico Commander" you can tell he is ready for hunting season too. I started blowing my duck call and he started beating his chest with it like Tarzan!!!!!!!!!!!!!
