Default Latest duck hunting mods to Nucanoe

End of last season I shared some photos of how I modified my Nucanoe for duck hunting. Here are some photos of my 2016/2017 modifications. We did pretty good opening morning. More ducks down than I thought there would be.

I set the kayak up so I could have something highly maneuverable to go pick up ducks that I could stand up while running the motor but then also be able to sit in as a blind. SO its a balance between the two. Having wheels on it full time is a huge help to pull it up and over my levees. The trolling motor is plenty fast enough because its pushing a 65 lb boat with only 4 inches of water displacement with me in it. Really a joy to hunt out of.

Thanks for the support everyone! I am still not totally happy with the wheels. This is the trailtreker Maximus kayak cart. It works very good on land. The problem right now is that its too far forward so you can’t lift the front of the kayak more than 2 feet or the back of the kayak hits the ground. I can adjust this. With the motor mounted the problem is the wheels are not tall enough to be below the prop by more than 2 inches. So I have to angle the motor before dragging on land. I found the same style wheels on Northern Tools. These are 12 inch wheels. I will change to 20 inch wheels and re position the cart closer to the motor. Then it should be perfect!
