until i saw an elk in person two years ago in wyoming i had no idea how big they really were. that is going to be a lot of meat on the table. you may need to trade "red" meat for red meat

I ran up on 2 of them in South Dakota on a motorcycle in the early 90's going down a big hill. Talk about make you crap your pants.
In Utah, there are a lot of them up in them mountains also, I think it is spelled Wasatch Mountains. Game preserve and they run all over the place without fear. Same for Mule Deer. Makes a Coonass drool...

nice! i killed a nice 7x6 a few years back, but the place i been going just hasnt been producing bulls lately. it is around trinidad, co. this year is first year in 5 years im not going. ranch owner struck natural gas and has put up so many gas wells there is no more elk habitat on his property.
