Default Dove season

Who's got their predictions for doves this year? Looking at going every chance I can get. Not 100% sure where I'm gonna go yet when I get home.

In the afternoon when its not raining I sit on my patio and call the doves in with a Bluetooth speaker hooked up to my phone. Works pretty good but is highly illegal if you shoot them. Still cool to call them in and watch them.

I'll see what my great uncle can dig up on that. He's been on countless hunting shows sponsored by LA Sportsman.

There's one on 190 going west out of DeRidder. Haven't noticed many birds yet but looked like they were starting to cut what I believe is millet yesterday.

The hunt west of DeRidder, is run by the LDWF.

A few days before the season open, they decide if the fields will be open for hunting. Check there web site on about Wednesday before open day to get the details.

The LDWF does this kind of hunt in a couple places in the state each year.

The DeRidder hunt usually has a bunch of people show up and only a certain number of hunter are allowed at any given time. I think, if someone gets their limit or leaves, another hunter can start hunting.
