we had 2 150 black maxs on a 24 wellcraft years ago

the oil injection burnt both engines up 5 min apart in the ship channel, this was probably in 1990 and they were several years old

I had a '94 Merc. 200 H.P. Offshore. It didn't say Black Max on it like the older ones did.
Good engine. It did like gas, but it was pretty dang reliable. Started good, ran great.

I had a '90 B/M 150.....never had any problems.....it would run like a spotted ape! That thing was thirsty though....didn't think that much gas could flow through a 3/8 hose in that amount of time!

should still be an original Kenner. I bought a Kenner from Jerry's in 2002 when I came home from LSU. Same motor on mine. It was a great boat!

I think Jerry's stopped carrying Kenner line around 2005.

Yep still a real Kenner 05 was the buyout year. I have an 01 w/ 125 merc saltwater series and that motor is a beast. just make sure you start it every month or two cause it sucks to start em if they sit up for a while

Should be a 2.5 liter block, proven motor. The EFI model will start a lot easier than the carbed one, on either motor the oil injection needs to come off or just mix 1/100 into the gas as a cheap insurance policy.

the hull is what it is but rides & fishes good. stand on the cavitation plate of the motor to make sure transom is solid, stomp around the decks inside checking for soft spots.

Good info! The guy he buying it from is a boat mechanic. Orignial owners kind of let it go (sitting uncovered and dirty) and he bought it and fixed it up...its in real good condition though...just concerned on the motor issue of it being super hot. We've had johnson motors and never had a hot temp like that using the ears...I don't know if its a vision or the rolled gunnel yet...
