GOTO baits
I always have a C rigged fluke tied on for Toledo. Stick baits (senkos/big bites) are my goto on Calcasieu, sabine, Big Woods, and other small water establishments. Last edited by SaltERedneck; 10-12-2011 at 10:25 AM. |

I use texas, wacky, and weightless. Was talking strictly fresh water.

Live swimps!! Lmao
Seriously, if I can't buy a bite I'll start throwing a 3" pearl white Gulp shrimp on a 1/4 oz jig head. I know I'll catch something. |

If the bite us on, I like a pop-r or chug bug. Go to for me is old school, a lil' fishie on a jighead and a snap on spinner blade. Caught a lot of bass on that. I like watermelon senkos too. |

depends on if i fishing for size or numbers. fun fishing and tourney fishing are different too.
Size = jig / pig, bruise w black pig or large creature bait. watermelon /candy. Numbers = crank bait or spinner bait ,color depends on water / bait. fun fishing = 1/8 oz white spinnerbait , sacalait will hit it too. tourney fishing Buzz bait at 1st light ,crank or spinner to try to get a limit in the boat. Then Large creature bait to try to add lbs. |

When nothing is going right, I throw a Tx rig watermelon baby brush hog or 7" culrpit worm. Worked really really slow.

when things get tough, i will downsize my presentation. from a spinnerbait down to a beetle spin and from a big worm down to a 4 incher. my confidence bait on small, highly pressured waters is a yamamoto 9s-10-925. its a 4" yamasenko in watermelon red/seedless watermelon laminate, rigged weightless wacky on 8# fluoro. it gets me bites when not much else does.
