Went to the camp for the last weekend of teal season and we had a big time.
Saturday, we woke up to heavy cloud cover and light rain. Teal were coming into the decoys 10-20 at a time so it did not take long to get our 6 man limit. We had one other group hunting the field next to us and they had their 6 man limit in 45 minutes. Our plans were to make a dove hunt in the afternoon, but the rain kept most from leaving the camp. It's hard to get people to leave cold beer and college football to go sit in the rain. Those of us who went hunting average 7-8 birds a person.
Sunday, we traded blinds with the other group and killed another 12 limits. It took a little longer, but there were large groups all morning in the decoys. Not much shooting in our area, but that is normal for us with the lack of water.
Overall, we killed over 800 teal which was slightly down from last year.
A few months ago I went to Acadiana Outfitters and bought a Beretta A400 from Cmac. This is the best I have ever shot at teal and doves. Really impressed with the low recoil on this gun, it's like shooting a 20 gauge.
