Default Deep Water Bayou/Johnson's Bayou

Thinking about going down to Johnson's Bayou tomorrow and launching off of Deer Water Bayou Rd. I have a friend who used to fish that area. Launch and go Northeast catch bass and sac-a-lait, launch and go northwest and you can get to Sabine Lake. Has anyone here ever fished that area. Not looking for "your secret spots", just want to know if it is worth the trip from Moss Bluff.

TIM:

Since the storms there are no bass back there. Salt water all the way east til you run into private property (Apache & Dore). You can follow deep bayou to Sabine lake but with a S wind of 10-15 it'll be rough as hell. Now I have heard of some nice reds and bass being caught in black bayou near and south of the swing bridge. Spinner baits along the bank for both species. You can launch at Vinson drain ditch and run south to get there. Easy run.

Thanks! After reading Latt's post I was going to try for redfish but the wind was an issue. I ended up fishing south of Orange on the Louisiana side...water was almost 2 feet higher than normal and the wind was not helping matters any. I still want to try deep water bayou but now I know just to go for reds, specks, and flounder.
