Default First of the Yr..

Well guys.. After doing some nice catching sunday.. I was hungry for breakfast...

I alway KEEP the Trout eggs.. I PREFER them over eating the Trout...

The trout eggs were not really highly developed for this full moon..

Did get a enough to make a snack of them.. So I fried dem up.. Yummy..

Dry dem. Use some cajun power garlic sauce, a little worchestershire, a little tuscan house italian dressing..(Guys; the Tuscan House Has so much more herbs than regular..), and Lots of cajun seasoning...

Bread them in 1/3 Italian bread crumbs, yellow coarse corn meal, LA fish fry..

2" of hog lard.. Get it up to 375 deg.. Dropp dem in until they float.. Turn over once..

A little tartar sauce, ketchup.. Yummy. Good Breakfast.

I'm usually good with trying pretty much any fish and game at least once ... but I think I'd pass on this.

How does the texture compare once fried ? Similar to hush puppys or close ? Excuse my ignorance if im far off on this one ... lol

Never had trout eggs but have had eggs from some freshwater fish. They are ok. Not something I crave but not something I would turn down either. Frying in lard is the way to go that's for sure. Lard for frying and butter (real) and olive oil for everything else. Biggun if I get invited for breakfast I won't say no

Plain and simple...trout eggs suck. They are bland and grainy. If I have to cover a piece of seafood with tons of seasonings to make it taste good, or have to dip it in something to make it taste, it's a waste of my time. To each his own though.

Man them eggs are thats better than sucking the brains out of squirrels.

I have had the following and love em. Trout, Bass, Sac-A-Lait, Catfish eggs
Its been a while since I had em, and I cant remember you which one I like most. The do have a "fishy" taste but it is fish right?
