Default Tides and weather

What app are iPhone users using to watch the weather; tides, winds, and etc for planning their fishing trips for the big lake area. Or websites in general?

Default Tides and weather

Weather and wind: weather underground storm (phone app)

Wind: WindAlert (phone app)

Tide: noaa tides and current (website)

Note, the tide predictions in the above link are at Calcasieu Pass. You will have to adjust by several hours the further you get from that location. I usually read for oyster bayou area and it is on average 3 hours difference.

I use weather underground for general weather and, Noaa Graphical forecast for wind and weather, and wind guru beachfront wind.

Predict Wind is also pretty stellar and sometimes the most accurate.

One note about wind prediction. It depends on how far inland you are fishing as to the accuracy of the predictions vs actual. If you are fishing Big Lake the majority of it will match the wind speed for the Beach to just off shore the beach. For example.. if you want to fish the coast and the forecast is for 8-10 north of the beach and in Big Lake.. but the forecast for off shore the beach 1-5 miles is for 20-25.. you can be 99% assured its going to be blowing 20 instead of 10 in the Lake. Use the nearshore forecast for the bays.. If you are fishing a secondary back lake up off the Calcacieau River, then the inland forecast still might hold with an occasional gust. hope that helps your planning.
