Default My new toy

Finally got me a 10/22! Originally I wanted a synthetic stock so I could upgrade and add on to make it tacti"cool", but I ran into a family friend at the gun show who said he had one for sell at a good price, so I settled for a wood stock. Its an '87 model delux edition (at the time meaning nicer hardwood stock than regular). Before any one says it I know the scope is HUGE for a 22. It was given to my father in law many years ago and he never used it so I figured why not? Since I'm not making it tactical I still wanted it to stand out, its not like I really squirrel hunt anyway (but if I did I would be pickin them off from 100 yards lol). It has a trigger job and it was sent off to be accurized. Its a very accurate gun. Mounted the scope yesterday and goin to have some fun after work today!

U can still make it tacti cool if you want. Thats what I did, bought a regular wood stock, and pretty much just used the action out of it. Everything else is aftermarket. Came out pretty B./A.- ed

Well with the work the guy did to increase accuracy, I would rather not jack with it.

you dont wanna know.lol It was before alot of these assault style 22's were available. You can buy these alot cheaper now than what I paid for my upgrades. Archangel makes a sweet lil 22 for not a bad price. Pretty much, mine is built using a tru a.r. platform. The only thing ruger is the actual action itself. It was a fun project though. Just built a 223 a while back. It came out smoking. Did it in black.

Went to the range to sight in the scope and they had some guys shootin some 10/22's that were all rigged up like yours Speck. They shot off some clips of 22 then they would switch to real AR's. They showed up with 2000 rounds for the AR's. 2000rds=big money.

Here is an Archangel AVS (as mentioned by Speck-chaser) build in progress. You can find the stock for around 100 bucks.

Thanks,
Went to the range Sunday. At 50 yards I can put all 10 shots into a 3/4" hole.

It's fun to shoot and the ammo is CHEAP. It's a little heavy to lug through the woods though. Next I am going to work on my 35 year old Marlin Model 60.

I wanted to sight mine for 50 but the 50 target was in use so I did 25. I had it pretty good. Next time I go I will be resighting for 50. With that big arse scope I got on it 25 yards was almost too close to see it good lol!
