Cheers More Du Reds 7-28-14

Day 2 with James, David, and Kera Wheeler had us targeting reds. As soon as the Big Bluewave stopped and the PowerPole was deployed...BAM, It was red fish on!! Gold spoons was the ticket today. We doubled up quickly, then several singles hit the spoons. We put 7 reds in the K2 in less than 20 minutes (by 7am), then the switch turned off. It was stick and move the rest of the day picking at 1-2 reds per stop. Unreal how the bite just shuts off in the blink of an eye. Reds everywhere swimming around, following and bumping the baits but refuse to eat. We tried shrimp under and cork and shrimp Carolina rigged without a bite (not even a hard head!!). Persistence is key when the fish do this. We never gave up and grinded them out. We also tried for bass, but only found two willing to bite. Every red was caught on gold spoons and the couple bass hit watermelon baby brush hogs. Thanks James I enjoyed the two days fishing with y'all.
