from my research in the past few hours it doesnt seem to be necessary to achieve max output in the spinner

I spray 'em down with Reel magic, lean 'em in the corner and that's it. Last time I took one apart, I heard that dreaded "boooooing".....the sound of a spring flyin' across the yard. I took that reel to my buddy in a Ziploc bag and he said never again.

Somebody gave me the can of Reel Magic so I tried it. It's gone now so I'll try something else. I used to not do anything to 'em and never had any problem. I dunked both of my "D" Curados in that south Texas battery acid and never did anything to 'em and that's what I use for bassin'. Never missed a lick.
