Default Prepping the Bow

Pulled out the bow today to start getting some practice in early. I was shooting all over the place. I noticed that the hairs in my rest had worn away. Y'all have any that you would recommend? This one has lasted me 5 years on this bow.
Also, does anyone have experience with a pendulum sight? I've heard a few people talk about how they like them but I don't see too many out there...

Drop away is the way to go. I just got my bow back from the shop. Oiled and cleaned everything, checked and waxed my string and put in a different peep sight.... $50 charge and glad I spent it.

Going to pull out the bow next week and get started again. I was looking at drop away rests the other day, think I may try it this year but man it's hard to fix something not broke.

Parker's are some good bows just not very well known. My buddy has been having one for a few years and loves it.

I used one for awhile, works great for stand hunting or elevated practice but limits you on the ground.

Another vote for the QAD... I have the basic hunter model also.. I think it was about $60 when I purchased my bow in 2007 and it's still shooting straight so it's still on the bow... when I do upgrade someday I'll probably go with one of the upper end QAD models... I think they are around $120

I've been shooting the RipCord and have really enjoyed it. It works great didn't have any issue with it and have shot a bunch, I do like how there is an "arm" that goes over the top of the rest (v shape) that helps hold the arrow in to an extent while you walk around or sit with the bow in your lap.... However when the time comes to buy a new rest I'll be going QAD. Main reason is that when your at full draw and decide not to take the shot and go back to the rest position the RipChord rest will still fall away while the QAD will stay in place.

I have been running a Ripcord on my Truth II since '09 and it has been flawless. I like the fact that it falls even on a slow letdown, it just gives me the piece of mind that it will always fall on release (and since I shoot FOB's, not vanes... my rest not falling would be catastrophic.. lol).

As far as the pendulum sight, it's personal preference. I don't care for them but they work from a treestand but one of my buddies swears by it. I used a pendulum while prepping for the season a few years ago but it just didn't do it for me. I switched back to my Axcel Armortech and am happy with multiple pins.
