Default Hog proof Deer feeder

Been building these for a while, affordable, and they absolutely work. Coon, squirrel and hog proof. It's the only way to go for us from now on. Just thought I'd share our little design with SC.

Is it just a regular feeder built on a frame with a winch so the critters can't reach it?

How tall is your frame? How far in the ground?

We use 16ft 4x4's for the legs and a 6ft 4x4 for the cross piece. Put a pulley on the leg up near the top of the leg so the cable doesn't interfere with the barrel and a pulley in the middle of the cross piece. We've done a bunch of different things to hang the barrels, but the best is burning 2 holes about 3 inches under the lid and running a 1 inch pipe all the way through the barrel, then weld up the gaps and weld chain to the ends of the pipe. We sunk the legs about 4ft in the ground

Make sure you get pulleys rated for 500lbs. Not the cheap ones

He was stating hog proof in the manner that they can't tamper with the feeder itself.

Hog proof in the idea that the hogs can't damage the
feeder. We have had so many broken feeders from hogs, that we are happy to finally find something they can't break

Put your game camera close by id like to see their attempts to jump from the legs over to the motor
