I'm a kayak fisherman, had 10 slot reds but kept 4 smaller ones to eat down there Friday.

You went out of Jean Charles or end of the road ? Just curious cause my first stop was to the east of Jean Charles and I didn't do anything then I headed to the west of the Island and caught my fish . I'm in a boat but wasn't more than 2 miles from launch .

I launch out of Pack Kayak rentals at the end of the road. I fish to the East 5 or 6 miles out ( I get into my kayaking) .

I usually do good in between the marina and Isle Jean Charles this time of year but for some reason it been better on the western side . I think erosion got a lot to do with it. Seems like further west there's more marsh left . I think in 10 years there will be nothing but open water .
