Default Johnson Bayou beach producing

The beach in Johnson Bayou has been producing last night and today. We fished the troughs between the beach and the first sandbars where the breaks in the sandbars allowed the water from the breaking surf to run back out. Mullet and crab was working for 20-27 inch reds. Shrimp on the bottom was working for 12-20 inch reds and 15-20 inch specks.

There is a town called Johnson Bayou which is just an area about 10 mile west of Holly Beach. I say "area" because there really is no town.... just houses along hwy 82.

In this area there are several "beaches"..... Constance, Mae's, and Little Florida. Roads go down near the beaches.

Today was more of a mixed bag. 5 keeper reds out of 14 caught between 9-10:30, along with a nice drum. This afternoon the sharks showed up to give us a workout, mostly black tips hitting mullet. I spent 2 hours this evening re-rigging lines and plan to hit it again in the AM.

Was down in JB today working on duck blinds. The water on the beach was nice.... seen several slicks this morning.

South wind sat night muddied everything up. No joy on Sunday.
