Brew Red fish at the yellow rigs?

has anyone caught red fish at the appache yellow rigs to s.e. during this time of year...have always got them in the summer but never tried in March....got decent seas coming up and sunny. anybody??

Catch n release only out there now over 3 miles out
Crazy , reds r thick thick too
Dont understand, just like the snapper deal

I believe that is still a gray area. Louisiana declared that they were moving the boundary line but the Feds still have not approved it. Until then, if you get caught by the Feds in the gray zone, it's Feds rules. La WLF can't help you and WLF tells you that up front. This is just my opinion of course. I just don't want anyone to think that the state's declaration gives them any protection from the Feds.

La game warden advised me they will write tickets if u have redfish over 3 miles
They also are watching people coming in and stopping em at jetties
I dont agree with it.....

I'd bet you'd win in an LA court under LA rules. They declared the line further out, but nothing in the declaration suggests the further boundary only applies to snapper. I wouldn't recommend testing it, because you'll lose on Federal charges in a Federal court, and if you beat LDWF in a state court, they'll hand the evidence over to the Feds just to spite you.

It is probably best to stop for a few minutes a mile or two from the jetties and catch your redfish there.
