Default 11/25-27 Big Lake

Two of us made the drive down to BL on Friday morning for some kayak fishing. Put in at Hebert's and fished down to Commissary Point and back. Caught a few flounder and one speck. Left and went to Fred's at about 2. Couldn't figure out how to catch a red in there even though the tide was ripping out pretty good by that point. Saturday morning we fished Prien, mostly between I-220 bridge and the casinos. Caught 5 specks and 1 flounder. Took out around 11, and headed to Choupique Bayou. Fished there till dark and again zeroed on reds in the marsh. Went back to Fred's Sunday morning with the intent to head toward Turner's. Caught 29 specks, 5 rat reds, 1 flounder, and 5 white trout on the way out and never made it to Turner's. Took out at 11, and headed back north. Some other kayakers who launched at Fred's when we did caught some nice reds in the marsh near the launch. I'm not sure why we couldn't catch any decent reds on this trip. We threw just about every artificial lure they make for reds. I spent most of my time throwing a gold spoon, and nothing touched it. Was still a good trip, and we can't wait to get back down there again before long. I can't provide much helpful info for yall, but I thought I would report how we did anyway, as I always benefit from reading everyone else's reports.
