Default Potlicker Exposed

Made a wade trip for a lil tournament yesterday. Got on a decent bite....buncha 2-3 lb'ers. We stuck with it, hoping something better would show up when a guide in a black yellowfin full of customers sets up a drift 50 yards in front of us, right on the tide line we were throwing at. I told him we were catching on softdines and if he was gonna potlick, he might as well know what to throw too. Total douche move. I am pretty sure W was on the same group of fish, and he set up perfectly, did not impede us waders and put his sports on fish without shutting down the bite. There's a way to share a bite without being rude. Apparently W knows how to do it, yellowfin guy needs to learn.

haha, nothing like a guide in a $100K boat having to follow the normal people around! Such fail, such trash.

No sir... W wasn't pot licking at all (if that was even him...pretty sure it was tho) he couldn't even see us. All I'm sayin is that some folks need a lesson in courtesy on the water. It was very rude and shut down our bite. The guide just kicked the t.m. into high gear and chased the fish down the island a lil farther. That's not an option for a wader. It was a douchebag move, and i expect a guide to know better. Guess he figures since he's a guide with a $100,000 boat that he's entitled to potlick whoever he wants.

But the guide in the picture is famous for that !! If he sees you catching fish he will potlick and make sure he is there at 4:30am next morning

He saw us wading on the east bank this year and watched us catch fish

Bam next a.m. He was power poled down on spot for next two days before I ever woke up to go fishing

It's sad some just give up the fight to look and find fish , they just depend on others to locate then they get up at 4am and beat you there !!

Good guides can find fish in other places and more times than most it turns out to be a better move

Great report, I wish some of the guys in port Sulphur knew this. I do not mind when someone pulls up next to me to fish, I always seem to use this to my advantage and end up staying on the fish longer. Use each other to corral the fish, I say. Some of the guys I fish around will throw a fit if you get within a football field distance of them...

I got one.
One time on tete butte these ole boys got sick of watching us slang em and the got right on top of me. I would see shrimp pop in the distance and just crank up and go there. I would catch a few then look behind me and the 2 boats were right there. After about 5 times doing it I said F it and stuck the power pole when one dude wasn't paying attention. He literally had to run from his front deck trolling motor still down and get on the big motor to go around me without hitting me.
Then looked at me like I was the ****. Being that we had a limit I was having fun toying with them. I didn't say a word b/c he had a kid with him but maaan in wanted to.
