Default Is Elmer's Island beach open?

I was thinking about launching the kayak from Elmer's Island this weekend or next but remember hearing that it might be closed for some type of maintenance. Does anyone know if it's opened?

Let us know how you do. We love Elmer's island and my son just got a new kayak. Please give a report.

that SE wind is gonna make it tough to fish the beach in a kayak. I'd go behind Grand Isle or in the marsh if I were you

Going to hit Grand Isle this Saturday and as of right now I have an empty boat. If anyone wants to do some fishing PM me.

I hope y'all crack some heads if you see peeps littering the beach. We need to work to clean that place up.

Doesn't look like it will be this weekend for me. Maybe next, weather permitting. Yes, that beach gets pretty well trashed out. It's a shame...

Already changed my game plan, still going to Grand Isle but staying away from Elmer's Island, going to be nuts. Just hope people respect the place and don't trash it up.

It's everywhere in Louisiana unfortunately. We have some trashy people. Look in any ditch after a bug aim and it's sad how much trash there is. There is a litterbug hotline 888 548 7284. Even if you see someone throw out a cigarette butt they will ask for license plate number and first offense I think they send them an ashtray in the mail.
