Going to be an east wind Friday. If you're launching from Hebert's, I'd either chase the guides around as the others recommend (not) or try around Pelican Point if the water isn't totally nasty. There's always a chance for birds chasing bait in that area if the water isn't too miserable.
If there is water movement at any of the weirs south of Hebert's, that's usually a good sign that there will be redfish. If you're launching up north, I'd run to the cuts along the salt ditch around Black Lake and fish whatever moving water I could find. Take all of that with a grain of salt. I've had more mediocre days on Big Lake than good ones. I don't give good advice but it's probably better than nothing. And don't forget to post a report (good or bad) if you go. |

If looking for trout I'd try turners around the island first thing in the am. Then make my way south along the east bank looking for reds. If water is moving into the lake at the weirs then the reds should be easy pickings. If not the work the east bank south of comm point fishing points/cuts etc I like to use spoons when working the bank because you can fish a lot of area quick but to each their own. I wish you luck.
