Default BL 12/30 weir run

Decided to sneak in a quick trip this AM. Unfortunately my fishing buddy had to ditch so I ended up rolling solo.

Hit heberts around 730. Went straight to the weirs. Only about 3 boats when I got there.

Quickly found em stacked up and had my limit by 830.

Back at the ramp for 9am.

Chartreuse gulp swimming mullet was the ticket this morning. Had a bucket of shrimp but limited before they could defrost.

Probably 6-8 boats there when I left.

I did notice a few boats fishing the basket reef area on my way out and more on my way back - like 5. I didn't get close enough to see if they were catching.

Nice fish! We caught a mess of good trout today in turners drifting reefs. We threw chartreuse salty grubs on 1/8 oz lead heads. Then headed to the weirs late morning to try and stroke the reds but we only caught 4 idk if you fished the 3rd weir or not but there were about 7 boats there and a couple were tied up to the weir god bless em.

Thanks. I was at Grand Bayou, which I think is the third weir. People seem to get stupid when fishing the weirs. I'm surprised there are not a ton of accidents there daily based on some of the things I've seen.

Glad to hear the trout were biting. With the chill, wind, water color, and the fact that I was getting wet pretty much nixed any thought I might have had for running across the lake any further than I had to.
