Everyone I talked to said the bay is very fresh right now. Only think I heard was reds and flounder at marsh island.

That's what I figured. It never fails, when I am able to do some fishing it's either crappy weather or the bay sucks.

You can fish lng if the wind picks up. There are fish being caught in there, mostly on live bait.

Default Vermillion Bay

Fished around Weeks bay and trash pile on the 4th, caught 3 keeper reds, 5 throw back black drum (all were 15 1/2), a flounder and some of my favorite....croakers. All caught on bottom with dead shrimp. When the winds are favorable hit the Hammack area, shrimp under cork in the grass.

Thanks man! Looks like I may have to try out a couple of afternoons as soon as I get my rods in from Billy and get 'em set up.

Default Federal Closures

Don't forget about the federal closures in effect right now! Not sure exactly what the coordinates of the closure is, but it looks like it's pretty much in line with the pass. Would have to head west out of the pass to avoid 'em.

No need in going to the bay anytime soon with all the rain we have been getting around the area. The water will be fresh and muddy for a while.
