Winds are gonna be pretty tough. Vermilion bay is a different animal you can catch the fire out of them one day and then go back the next with exact same conditions and do terrible.

I would pass up VBay Andy head towards big lake. Much more consistent fishing

Still gonna be a windy weekend wherever you go

In spring I have found a few reds going way back in cuts in shark island (just to west of quintana launch at verm bay), and its out of wind.

--biggun-- dead end canals: does that include the rollover bayou/canal?

i'll be in vermillion this Saturday. has anyone been catching anything. I'm taking the wife, dog and a buddy. we caught a few bulls last year around the mouth of what I believe is the worm. it was a swift incoming tide which I believe helped. if anyone doesn't want to give out valuable info feel free to call me. thanks in advance.

Try to fish dead end canals on cold days or look for mullet and fish the nearest cut or point.

The bayous around Marsh Island always produce something, the worm, Bayou Michael, etc.

last time I went was a few weeks ago with the wife, caught a few but nothing to write about. I would suggest cast netting at any weir to catch mullet or pogie. Shrimp are in the gulf right now.

We fished Marsh Island last weekend. They weren't hard to find. Caught lots of 15-16" fish.

Forget what I said in my previous post. We had to work hard today to find any fish. Finally after noon the bite picked up some but it we still had to move around and pick up a few here and there but we couldn't fill our two limits but still had a great father/son day. Water was nice inside M.I.
