How far out of Cameron do you have to go to get into some tripletail?

Thanks,

They are at the rigs sometimes, at the platform jackets sometimes, at the weedlines sometimes, at the buoys sometimes, at trash floating sometimes.

Depends on what time of the year you are there! Sometimes - like now, they will start showing up in the lake itself!!!! Early summer, when the grass starts forming mats offshore, they will be there. They move in and out from offshore waters (20 miles or more) to inland water.

Check weed lines, and buoys, trash, rigs, crab pots..

And once you have a good trip, of catching under grass and trash, everywhere you see grass/trash in water, you check for trips!

these are the most unpredictable fish to locate in the gulf, imo. They are definately very hard to find and you can burn a lot of fuel trying to find them. Al Gore hates these fish for that reason ! ! !
