Default Edge boats

Lake Area had two at the boat show. Very nice looking boats. I'd better start saving my pennies!

they werent real sure on price of boat only but the boat, 40hp Tohatsu motor and trailer was $10500-$11000 and he said that the 15x50 was running 44mph stock with one guy and still alittle over 40mph with 2 guys....realy nice lookin little boat. I looked at the Excel about 2 yrs ago and will say this is by far more finnished looking and a neat lookin design.

Somebody needs to find out what the 1650 will do with the same motor. I don't want to wait until March to find out.

I think I'd be more interested in the 1650. Size does matter! :o

In this case I am not sure how much size will mater, if you look at the boat it is wide up front and narrow towards back plus its sorta got a pad under it so when its up running it looks like it would be more like running a skiny boat....hope that makes some since

If I get one I want it all to come from Lake Area Marine. Plus I like the Tohatsu.

It will be interesting to watch these lightweight performance hulls with the "go-fast guys" on the rivers

It's really not a "lightweight" boat. I have double walls and a factory floor in mine. The 50" wide boats have 3 longitudinal ribs and the 56" wide have 5. I insisted on 5 ribs for strength. There is a steep learning curve to driving one empty. It ain't yer standard flatbottom, nail the throttle and go. The boat is finicky about the trim. If you nail the throttle and hit the trim, it starts chine walking, gets worse and worse till you have to chop the throttle. Way to run one without chine walking is to feed the trim slowly. Bump the up button, let the boat catch up, bump the up again, let the boat catch up. Takes a few trips to learn it, then it's all good. Here is the perfect example of how NOT to do it, too uch trim too quickly:

FIRST: I am not their saleman, I am not sponsored by Edge, I just worked with them designing a boat the way I wanted an aluminum boat to perform. By performance, I mean a boat that runs fast, carries a load well, turns great, and the quality of workmanship. I paid for my boat, no favors there. I make ZERO, NADA, NOTHING if anyone buys their boat. They have several established dealers in Arkansas. Black Ops Duck Calls sells the Edge line with Black Ops trademarked camo paint job. Go to their website, they have dealers that can and will give you a price. That said, personally, I would rather deal with a local dealer in case problems arise. I have never known Lake Area not trying to keep a customer happy.
Edge has a website: http://www.edgeboats.com/
According to their website,
550 Retail Price: 4755.00 including aluminum trailer + prep, taxes, and shipping

NOW, note that is for the Edge with a dropdeck, not the standard deck we are accustomed to. All of the testing we have done, the 556 runs within 1 mph of the 550 with a 2 and/or 3 cylinder 25hp motor.

I thought you had a boat, its a motor that runs that you don't have.
