We go to Shell Island opening weekend every year, you're more than welcome to come along. Usually leave Friday afternoon and come back Sunday. Other than that, we make day trips out there a few times a year and I tag along with friends the rest of the season. I don't have a lease or property so I gotta go with other people but I can probably line something up.

doford, you go deer hunting often? I've never been on a goose hunt and have always wanted to, I would be interested in swapping a deer hunt for a goose hunt if you're interested.

Same here, I can promise a deer/hog hunt swap for a duck hunt. Jfranovich, let me know if you are interested. I hunt in a lease in Franklinton, La. We have some nice decent deer and kill a few hogs every now and then.

Default Marsh

Marsh without a doubt. I have hunted timber before and enjoyed it, but something about sitting in the marsh is just a lot more enjoyable for myself. In my few hunts in the timber, it seemed as though we shot very few "trash" ducks. One advantage to the timber. But I love the mudboat rides and watching the greys cupped up and sailing into the decoys, so the marsh is where I call my home.
