Was Bl packed on the weekends before SC? Say, before 2009?

I bet it was, and I bet the bay was too. The bay is the slowest saltwater estuary in the state, you can go on any weekend in the summer when the salinity is zero and there will be a crap ton of people regardless of the reports.

It's summer, people love the water, BL is small and has a large outlying population to satisfy. Delete SC and nothing will change.

How bout the winter when good reports are being posted and the weather is nasty? Does this variable support the gang rush to the water? I'd bet not.

The general consensus when I was growing up was that big lake was always on, this was before Internet forums... And this bleeds into tx and to the east, that place is no secret and never has been.

What I'm saying is post a report saying "limited out in turners" and you will have twice as many people fishing that area come the weekend. Pretty much goes for any spot..****load of people watch the reports and use them to go fishing. Do I post reports every time I fish? No...because of this.

I agree.. a report should never tell where u catch fish, I keep my spots to myself and now wait to post reports late because lately I Have notice that i fish and post report that night to find someone who saw me that day fishing my spot next am

Fisherman have become lazy and crumb snatchers, if you ever fish with me you know I will find my own fish and hardly ever fish around crowds

That's my point, and it wasn't even in the subject line. So what are reports supposed to look like? What would make the due hards happy? Maybe the influx is good, it makes it more of a challenge - y'all make it look too easy!

agreed.

How about take an oppurtunity to educate people. This website is a tool for teaching as well, not just posting reports and locations.

I will say this, W's thread every year is great for tips on fishing birds. Will all people practice what is preached...probably not because we are humans.

just as was said above, times have changed. The available lines of credit make it easier than ever to afford a boat, thus increasing your numbers of "fisherman" dramitically. Adaptation is key, but posting a report without giving up your "secret spot" is certianly incouraged. Lets be honest I do not fish nearly as much as i'd like so its fun to see whats happening out there. just 2 cents

Hey peeps.

The contest is with the fish. I never mind a little company, as long as everyone stays out of casting distance.

Share the water. Share the fish. Share the times. Let those poor suckers in FL, MS, and TX fight over the few fish they have.

You in the sportsman's paradise.
