Default Cold weather/rain gear

I am considering a rain jacket/bibs for running in cold weather (12 - 15 miles each way). I currently wear insulated coveralls but would like something less bulky and water resistant/proof, maybe something with gore tex. What do some of you use for cold weather boating?

I have a Simms rain jacket that I keep in the boat that is made out of Gortex but its not insulated. I really like it and keeps the wind out pretty well.

Sitka gear is awesome. Get someone with guide license so you can get 1/2 price to order for you

Well I try not to fish when it's cold AND raining lol one or the other is fine but combined is too much. I use some carhartt bibs when it's cold and a nicely insulated jacket with some good gloves. Simms has some sweet gloves.

I've been doing some research on this topic as well. Grundens makes rain gear that is affordable and pretty
durable judging by the reviews I've seen and read....take a look see....I'm thinkin of ordering me a set to try.

I have a north face rain shell suit. Got it half price two years ago. Still like new and keeps me very dry. Not insulated, but just layer up underneath.

I got an H2O express jacket a few years ago. Couldn't bring myself to buy the bibs too( since gotten a pair of frabils) but the h2o express jacket is warm, lite, and dry. For less than $100

Thanks for the replies. Not carved in stone, but I'm leaning toward Cabela's Guide Wear. Waiting for a sale, might just buy the bibs for now.

I have had the Cabelas guide wear for 5 years and they are still going strong, forgot them at home for a tournament last year and borrowed a friends back up pair of the bass pro 100mph+, I preferred them to the guide wear.

FlagUS Helli Hanson rain suit

I bought the greenish brown 3 /4 length hooded jacket and bibbed matching pants. They have worked in many applications of outdoor activity.
