Headed down to Grand Isle with the wife & kids to stay at the camp on Camadada that my father and his family owns.
First morning, wade fished in the bay (there's an island that has built up about 50 yards away from the front of our pier, so we fished off of the island) with my father from daylight (about 6:20ish? to 8:30). Ended up with 25 white trout, only about 8-9 specks.
The second morning, headed there about the same time with my wife. Fished about 1 1/2 hours, water was much clearer than the previous morning, ended up with 24 specks and 21 white trout.
The water in front the camp and off that island was really ugly Friday night and Saturday. However, when we woke up Sunday morning, it was much clearer. There was bait off the island Sunday morning that was not there before.
Caught the trout off sparkle beetles on jig heads. Easy fishing, no fooling with live bait, which I refuse to spend money on anyway
.
I especially liked it because the wife was even able to catch a handful herself and have some fun, though she seemed happy just throwing a line and watching the fish jump in front of her, whther she caught or not.
Hope the rest of ya'll down there made off well.
