Looking to compile a list of organization that prep you for captain licsens .

it would probably be a good idea to purchase a boat before getting your captains license.

Capt Roy's, they do a great job. Did mine in the fall, was a fun course, but take a commitment.

There is only one license that guides have, it is a Operator of Uninspected Passenger Vessels. or 6 pack. You can have a maximum of 6 "clients" on your vessel at a time. All the info is the same, not private or commercial.

I got my Oupv 6 pack from Houston Marine in New Orleans. Cost of the class was $1300

Thanks guys web sight for Roy is out of date and yep new Orleans is closer but it's looking like Internet is better option. Unless Roy or some other outfit That schools in or around Lafayette.

Fletcher is in Houma and they have every course you need for the best price especially if you are a Louisiana resident. Check their website.

Call Capt Bennie, with Capt Roy's he is the one doing the classes, they periodically do them in Lake Charles at the Power Squadron.
