Default This is Getting Ridiculous!

Last night makes trip number 3 (1 saltwater 2 freshwater) with a new reel and it has yet to catch a fish. Catching fish with all the other rods that are set out just not the one with my new reel. Ggggrrrrrrrr.
Rant over.

It would not hurt to think more scientifically. The bait matters, the location matters, the hook matters. For redfish on crab or mullet, the leader and line don't matter (other than where you can place the bait). The fish has no idea what the rod and reel can do until he takes the bait.

All our rods catch fish pretty much equally distributed when fishing from the boat. Rods that cast further catch more fish from the beach. Fishing is like real estate: the three most important things are location, location, location. Rod and reel just need the moxie to pull the fish in when the time comes.

I can't in any way argue and or disagree with your statement MG. That being said, have you, in our brief time together known me to have trouble catching fish? It's just a virgin reel.
The problem will soon remedy itself. I hope.
